1000 FRIENDS OF OREGON

Take Action to Protect Oregon: Ask Your Senator to Vote NO on SB1037: It’s worse than Measure 37

Next week, the full Senate will consider SB1037, a bill that is worse for Oregon than Measure 37. The bill:

  • eliminates land use protections for tens of thousands of acres of farm and ranchland.

  • gives Measure 37 claimants transferable subdivision rights on 75% of Oregon’s farm and ranch lands.

  • grants development waivers to more than Measure 37 claimants.

Please contact your Senator using this look up form call 1-800-332-2313 (or 503-986-1187 if calling from Salem).

Coastal Design Action Teams: Nominate a Project on the Coast

The Coastal Futures Project is offering Design Action Teams to support a model development project on each of the north, mid-, and south coasts. If you are involved in a project that could benefit from conceptual design services, we want to hear from you! Preliminary requests for services for north coast (Clatsop and Tillamook Counties) may be submitted through June 1st. Stay tuned for work on the mid- and south coasts beginning this fall. Learn more online or contact Dan Eisenbeis, (503) 497-1000.

Transportation Reauthorization passes Senate: Veto Threatened

The Senate passed a transportation bill yesterday, providing $11 billion more than the $284 President had requested and the House had already passed. Administration sources suggest a veto is possible if the conference committee does not agree on the lesser number. Find more information.
