Garibaldi City Council Endorses Connections Project Report

On Tuesday, February 21st, the Garibaldi City Council adopted a resolution endorsing the Garibaldi Connections Project report by 1000 Friends of Oregon. The resolution states that the City hereby accepts the work “as a toolkit for developing future projects.” The community is now poised to integrate the Connections Project recommendations with their comprehensive plan update and creation of an urban renewal district. According to Mayor Ev Brown, “This report fits in perfectly with the timing of our other planning efforts to improve the community.” Learn more about the Garibaldi Connections Project.

OREGON NEWS

Statewide Land Use Task Force First Meeting March 3 (Friday)

The 10-member Land Use ("Big Look") Task Force has its first meeting tomorrow, March 3 at 1 pm in Hearing Room F in the Capitol Building. Show up and introduce yourself before or after the meeting. What's at stake is the future of our state. Read an agenda and more information.


Oregon Supreme Court Rules Measure 37 Legal

The Oregon Supreme Court ruled on February 28 that Measure 37 is legal. We were disappointed of course, and will continue to press for fairness to all Oregonians. Read a news article. Questions remain about how the measure works: read more.


A subdivision larger than the city of Dundee: Yamhill County's largest Measure 37 claim to date

From a tree farm north of Sheridan to a new community of 2,500 people is what Yamhill County's largest Measure 37 claim to date might have in store for neighbors. As reported in the News-Register, the city of Dundee has fewer homes than this one proposed subdivision.
