Oregon Supreme Court Denies Stay, Upholds Fairness In Measure 37 Case The Oregon Supreme Court today issued an order denying the State's emergency motion to stay Marion County Circuit Court's ruling that Measure 37 is unconstitutional. Denying the motion to stay means that the circuit court's opinion and order remain in effect. "The Supreme Court's ruling recognizes that Oregon communities and neighbors of Measure 37 claims would be irreparably harmed by allowing Measure 37 to go into effect again," said Bob Stacey, Executive Director of 1000 Friends of Oregon. "On the day of the circuit court ruling, we requested a special session of the legislature. We again call for such a session to pass legislation that promotes both fairness and effective tools for Oregonians to build better communities and protect our unique landscapes."
